Silicone caps mask threaded & non-threaded studs and tube ends during high-temp (600°F / 315°C) applications, like e-coating & powder coating.
Choose the Stud Size to Mask below that most closely matches the diameter of the stud/bolt/tube you are wanting to cap.
A cap's inside diameter typically needs to be undersized by around .030" in order to effectively mask a stud, tube, or bolt. We used this logic for the Stud Size to Mask (in) dropdown above.
Example: If the tube's outside diameter (OD) you're masking is 0.2", then the cap that will work best would be 49-0000172-01000 because its Inside Diameter is 0.172"
